Cultivating Chicken of The Woods(Laetiporus sulphureus)
Cultivating Chicken of The Woods is surprisingly uncommon, although im not sure why. In recent years, it has gained extreme notoriety as one of the top Gourmet mushrooms for both its beauty and nutritional value. It tastes like cooked chicken breast and tears into strips just like cooked chicken. People cant believe it, once they taste it, they exclaim " It DOES taste like chicken!!" COTW is a brown rot fungus, which produces a polypore structure in order to reproduce and drop its spores. It fruits on Oak and can be found around the Great Lakes region, from June-September.
